Meet the Instructor
Michael E. Nalley, Ph.D., CHA, CHE, CHT
Dr. Mike Nalley is a professional hospitality executive with over 40 years of experience in hospitality education, training and operations management. He is an education, training & customer service expert with experience in global brand program development, launch, implementation and analysis. Dr. Nalley currently works with the Choctaw Casino & Resorts team as the Senior Director of Operations Training. His previous roles also include being a hospitality training consultant, operations and corporate level positions with six major hotel brands and is a previous Assistant Professor in Hospitality Management at the University of Central Florida Rosen College.
Dr. Nalley’s Ph.D. Degree is in Business Administration, and he has obtained the Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA), Hospitality Educator (CHE), Hospitality Trainer (CHT) & Accredited Certification Instructor (ACI) certifications through the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association. He is also certified in Customer Experience Management (CEM) through the Medallia Institute and Online Course Development (CDL) through the University of Central Florida.
Dr. Nalley is a current member and past Chair of the Education and Certification Advisory Committee of AHLEI and is an active member in the Council of Hotel and Restaurant Trainers (CHART), Association for Talent Development (ATD) and the OSU Tribal Education Advisory Committee. His research interests include hotel operations management, customer service, leadership, training & development and industry certifications.
